1. Hadimba Temple
The popular Hadimba temple which is famous for its references in the great Hindu epics is also called the Hidimba Temple or the Dhungari Temple. It was constructed many centuries ago around 1553 by the famous king Maharaja Bahadur Singh. The excellent architectural pattern is distinguished from the other temples found in the country. The shrine is completely built of wood and dedicated to Hidimba Devi who was the wife of Bheem from Mahabharat. If you are visiting the temple then you should also head to the shrines of Ghatotkacha, the son of Hidimba Devi. The temples are built in the same premises and the thick cedar growth around the region with the towering hills on all sides is a sight to behold.
2. Solang Valley
The Solang Valley is a magnificent place in Manali which is frequented by tourists who wish to indulge in adventure mountain sports. The trekkers and the camping crowd are spotted in this valley which is located at an elevation of about 8400 feet from sea level. The Valley offers a magnificent view of the surrounding snow-capped mountains and the glorifying beauty of the hills. When the snow thaws in summer, the mountaineers also indulge in paragliding from this region of Manali. The Solang Valley is located almost fourteen kilometres from the five main cities of Manali and aims to cater to the needs of the visitors with its fascinating views.
3. Jogini Waterfalls
If you are heading to Manali to experience the beauty and the grandeur of the valley, here is something you should not miss out on. The Jogini Waterfall is one of the most popular tourist attraction spots in Manali which is well known for its beauty and the elevation of the feature. The swift flow of water downstream appears like a giant rope hanging from the cliff. Witnessing River Beas, one of the seven sisters is indeed something that is going to leave you awestruck. The view of the snow-capped mountains and the lush green valleys about it calls for you to have a look at this magnificent region of Manali. The elevation of the place offers a great spot for the trekkers to climb uphill and enjoy the journey along the way. Located near Vashisht Village, the waterfall also houses several temples near the pool below. The peak of Rohtang is also visible in this area.
4. Manu Temple
The locals will show you the way to the Manu Temple which is located high up in the hills. Built for the sage Manu, this temple can be reached by a little hiking along the hilly roads winding about the cliffs. The temple is praised for its intricate architectural design and the simplicity of decoration. Several tourists are spotted in this region as they climb the hills to seek blessing at the shrine of the sage. The temple is located in Old Manali and allows visitors within the premises of the building from five in the morning to six in the evening.
5. The Manali Gompa
Another excellent feature of the town on the hill is this brilliant Tibetan-style Gompa. The Tibetan refugees constructed this beautiful design for a monastery and you shall surely find the solace and comfort that you seek on a vacation. The excellent construction style and the ornate decoration are a must-watch for the visitors as they enter the eminent structure to admire the work of art. The walls are carved and painted with scenes from the life of Buddha and the monastery allows the tourists within the premises from six in the morning to six in the evening but remains closed during Sundays.
6. Bhrigu Lake
Another sought-after trekking destination in Manali, the Bhrigu Lake is a mesmerizing creation of God with an alpine forest and a lake in the centre. You would be lying if you say it didn't make you think of the perfect fairy tale land we have read in books. The magnificent view and the frozen lake are a beauty to behold. The region is located at an elevation of 4000m above sea level and you must at least once visit this location as you will love the scenic views.
